Skip Drain and Rinse

Tier: Premium — Add-on (purchased separately; not bundled by default).

Normally, every hand pour on an inductor ends the same way: once you press Finish Step, the inductor drains, rinses and drains again before the next product. When a mix has several hand-pour products, that's a drain and rinse after every one of them.

Skip Drain and Rinse lets you stack hand-pour products in the inductor instead. A product set to skip stays in the inductor when it's finished, and the next hand-pour product goes in on top of it. The inductor is drained and rinsed once, after the last hand pour, saving time and rinse water.

Skip Drain and Rinse is turned on from the Mix Preview page, and it's remembered on the Work Order:

  1. Press the pencil icon floating action button in the bottom-left corner to switch the product cards into edit mode.

  2. On each hand-pour product you want to stack, tap Skip Drain and Rinse. The button turns solid green when it's on.

  3. Start the mix as usual.

Once it's on, it stays on for that product every time you mix this Work Order, until you tap the button again to turn it off. It's saved for this Work Order only: the same product in another Work Order isn't affected.

The button only appears on hand-pour products, and never on the last hand pour in the mix: that one always drains and rinses, so the stacked products are flushed out of the inductor at the end. This holds even if the product order or inputs change later: if a product set to skip becomes the last hand pour, it drains and rinses anyway.

  • Pour the product and press Finish Step as usual. For a product set to skip, the inductor doesn't drain or rinse afterwards, and the product's rinse amount isn't used.

  • The Continuous Flow and Drain Inductor buttons aren't offered on a product set to skip, since its product is meant to stay in the inductor.

  • The next hand pour goes in on top. At the start of each hand pour, the scale reads what's already in the inductor and uses it as its new zero, so the amount shown is only the product being added, not the total in the inductor.

  • When the last hand pour is finished, the inductor drains and rinses everything together.

  • Only stack products that can sit together. Stacked products mix in the inductor before they reach the carrier. Check the labels for the mixing order and compatibility of the products you stack.

  • Keep within your inductor's capacity. Everything you stack has to fit in the inductor at once.

  • It's remembered. Because the setting stays on for the Work Order, check Mix Preview before mixing if you've changed products or what you're pouring.

I don't see Skip Drain and Rinse on a product.
It's only shown on hand-pour products while the cards are in edit mode, and never on the last hand pour in the mix. If you don't see it at all, Skip Drain and Rinse isn't part of your subscription: it's a Premium add-on. To add it, sign in to Intersect and update your subscription, then sync the Mixmate app.

How do I stop a Work Order from skipping the drain and rinse?
On Mix Preview, switch the cards to edit mode and tap Skip Drain and Rinse on the product again. It turns off, and stays off for future mixes of that Work Order.

Why can't I skip the drain and rinse on the last hand pour?
The last hand pour's drain and rinse is what flushes all of the stacked products out of the inductor and into the mix.

The scale shows 0 even though there's already product in the inductor. Is that right?
Yes. Each hand pour starts by zeroing the scale on what's already in the inductor, so you only see the product you're adding.

Why are Continuous Flow and Drain Inductor missing during a hand pour?
That product is set to Skip Drain and Rinse, so it's meant to stay in the inductor until the last hand pour.
