Supported Devices
The Mixmate App runs on Android and Apple (iOS/iPadOS) tablets and phones. Before you buy a device or install the app, check that it meets the minimum version below.
Minimum Versions
Section titled “Minimum Versions”| Device | Minimum version |
| Android tablet or phone | Android 11 or later |
| iPad | iPadOS 18.6 or later |
| iPhone | iOS 18.6 or later |
The app works the same on Android and Apple devices: every feature is available on both.
How to check your version:
Android: open Settings, then About tablet (or About phone), then Software information, and look for Android version.
iPad / iPhone: open Settings, then General, then About, and look for iPadOS Version or iOS Version.
Recommended Tablets
Section titled “Recommended Tablets”Below are links to the recommended tablets that are used by Praxidyn to test all the software with. We utilize the Samsung Tab Active line because they have proven to hold up well in the chemical mixing environment. Cellular provides the advantage to sync while in the field.
For North America/U.S.-based users, please make sure you are NOT using a tablet marked for International use.

Tablets, Phones, and the Web App
Section titled “Tablets, Phones, and the Web App”Tablets are recommended at the machine: the larger screen makes the mix easier to follow and operate.
Phones run the full app too, which is handy for checking records or work orders away from the machine.
The Web App (app.mixmate.com) is for office work like creating work orders and running reports. It can't run the machine. See Installing & Logging Into the Mixmate App.
When a Device Is Too Old
Section titled “When a Device Is Too Old”A device below the minimum version can't download new versions of the Mixmate App: the app store won't offer the update. Older versions of the app stop working once they're out of date. They lock you out of the app, with one exception: you can still sync, so any data on the device that hasn't been uploaded yet (such as mixes run while offline) can still reach the cloud.
If your device is below the minimum:
Sync it while it's connected to the internet, so nothing on it is lost (see How do I sync my data).
Update the device's operating system, if the manufacturer offers an update to a supported version.
If it can't be updated, replace it with a supported device (see Recommended Tablets), install the app, and sign in. Your data comes down from the cloud.
Common Questions
Section titled “Common Questions”Do I have to use a Samsung tablet?
No. Any Android or Apple device that meets the minimum version runs the app. The Samsung Tab Active tablets are what Praxidyn tests with and recommends, because they hold up well around chemicals.
Is there a difference between Android and iPad?
No. The app and its features are the same on both.
My tablet won't show the latest version of the app.
It's probably below the minimum version. Check its version as described above. If it's too old, see When a Device Is Too Old.
My old tablet only lets me sync.
Its version of the app is out of date and it can't update, so syncing is all it can do. Sync it to save its data, then move to a supported device.
