Product Mix Styles
Tier: Mixmate Control is available at every tier. User Control and Sequential are included at the Full or Premium tier.
Whether the system "holds back" automated products while you handle a handpour depends entirely on the Product Mix Style selected in your Work Order. Mixmate offers three distinct styles to balance speed, safety, and operator control.
Understanding Product Mix Styles

| User Control | Operator-driven timing. Allows the operator to manually toggle products from "Holding" to "Ready." Useful if you want to delay a chemical until the end of the mix. |
| Sequential | One-by-one. The system adds products strictly from the top of the list to the bottom. Each must finish completely before the next begins. |
How this answers your question:
Section titled “How this answers your question:”1. If using "Mixmate Control" (Default)
Section titled “1. If using "Mixmate Control" (Default)”No, it will not wait. The system will begin injecting automated products into the carrier stream as soon as the mix starts. This is designed to get you back in the field faster by utilizing Inline Dilution—mixing everything together in the hose on the way to the tank.
2. If using "User Control"
Section titled “2. If using "User Control"”It waits until you say so — except Carrier. Carrier starts immediately no matter what; the rest of the products in the mix start in a "Holding" state. You must manually toggle each automated product to "Ready" on the tablet. If you want to finish your handpour first, simply leave the other products in "Holding" until you are ready for them to start.
3. If using "Sequential"
Section titled “3. If using "Sequential"”Yes, it will wait — except Carrier. Carrier starts immediately no matter what; the rest of the products follow your product list like a ladder, one at a time. If the Handpour is at the top of the list, Mixmate will not open any other automated valves until the handpour is 100% complete and confirmed.
Exception: In the Fertilizer Mix in a Specific Order Use Totals scenario, water follows the product list order like everything else instead of starting immediately — that's what lets it run last, as a flush.
Why Some Automated Products Don't All Start at Once
Section titled “Why Some Automated Products Don't All Start at Once”Under Mixmate Control — and under User Control once every operation has been switched to Ready, which then behaves the same as Mixmate Control — the Work Order's product list (see Changing the Mix Order of Products) sets the order, but the hardware can still force some products to wait: any products that share a single measurement device (for example, multiple inputs on the same Flow Stack, or multiple products assigned to the same Inductor) can only be measured one at a time, since there's only one physical measurement device to go around. If each product instead had its own dedicated measurement device, they could all run simultaneously.
Let's consider the following example, Work Order A:

Inputs 1, 2, and 3 are all on the same Flow Stack, so they share one measurement device — only one of those three products can be measured at a time. Products 3 and 4 are both assigned to the same Inductor, so they share a different measurement device — only one of those two can be measured at a time. Carrier has its own dedicated measurement device, so it's never held up by the others.
When this mix begins, you will have Water, Product 1, and Product 3 all being introduced at the same time — one from each independent measurement device. Once Product 1 finishes, Product 2 begins on the Flow Stack; once Product 2 finishes, Product 5 begins. Once Product 3 finishes, Product 4 begins on the Inductor.
Summary Recommendation
Section titled “Summary Recommendation”In most cases, Mixmate Control is the best option because it ensures chemicals are diluted immediately by the carrier flow, limiting direct product contact. Use Sequential or User Control only if a specific product (like a water conditioner or stabilizer) must be the only thing in the line for a period of time.
