Tablet Error 203 - Inductor Scale Not Settling

Error 203 means the inductor's scale couldn't get a steady weight. Before the Mixmate moves on to the next step with an inductor, it waits for the scale to settle so it can trust the reading. If the inductor is moving too much to ever settle, that wait can't finish and the Mixmate stops with Error 203.

The app shows it as Scale Not Settling Error with the message 203-Inductor weight is not settling. Check for vibration. App versions before 3.1.0 called it Flow Not Stopping Error (203-Are valves closing?); it's the same error, and it's almost never a valve problem.

The load cells under the inductor are sensitive enough to pick up vibration and movement. Common causes:

  • Pump or engine vibration: The most common cause, especially with pumps mounted on the same frame or trailer as the inductor.

  • Wind: Gusts catching the inductor lid or tank.

  • Something pulling on the scale: Hoses or wires hanging on the inductor assembly.

  • An uneven or flexing mount: A trailer, truck bed or stand that moves while the machine runs.

  • The Reflection Test: Look at the tablet screen while it's in its holder. If the vibration is so high that you can't see a clear reflection of yourself, the inductor can't settle either.

  • Vibration Isolation: Add vibration isolation mounts to your pumps. McMaster-Carr Part #5823K25 is the option we use.

  • Free the scale: Make sure no hoses or wires are hanging on or pulling at the inductor, and shield the lid from the wind if needed.

If the vibration can't be removed, you can lower the Scale Reaction Speed so the Mixmate smooths out the movement and settles on a weight.

  1. Open the Data tab and tap Mixmates.

  2. Tap the three dots on your Mixmate's card, tap Configuration, then accept the warning.

  3. Open the Assemblies tab and tap the middle of the Inductor assembly.

  4. Lower Scale Reaction Speed, then tap Save.

  5. Tap the System tab and Save again to send the update to the machine.

See Inductor/Scales (Scale → Step 7) for the full Scale Reaction Speed writeup, including when it's appropriate to adjust.

If the environment is steady and lowering the reaction speed doesn't help, a failing load cell can also make the weight wander. See the load cell check in Inductor/Scales (Scale → Step 1).
