Diagnostics Mode

Diagnostics Mode is a troubleshooting tool that gives you raw, individual control over every single component in the Mixmate stack, with no automated sequencing. Pressing a button for a valve only opens that valve — it will not automatically turn on a pump or open a flowmeter. You must trigger every individual action yourself. For everyday priming or transfers, use Manual Mode instead, which sequences inputs automatically.

Warning: Diagnostics Mode does not provide any failsafes. You are in full control of all hardware components, and unlike Manual Mode, nothing closes automatically when you're done — you must close each part yourself, and inductors are not auto-drained on exit. Ensure all valves are closed and readings are turned off before exiting this mode to prevent unintended product flow or spills. Like Manual Mode, nothing performed here generates a Work Record.

Once you've selected your machine (see the Manual Mode overview for the entry steps), tap the Diagnostics Mode tab across the top of the screen, alongside Manual Mode and Wizards.

Before you leave the Diagnostics screen, always verify: all valve icons are toggled to Closed, all drive commands (pumps/motors) are set to zero or off, and no flowmeter is left "reading" active, which could affect your next automated mix.

While Mixmate valves typically operate in a simple "Open" or "Closed" state during an automated mix, Diagnostics Mode lets you fine-tune flow with precise, partial valve control — useful for throttling products or carrier lines during manual transfers.

  1. Long Press: Instead of a quick tap, press and hold the button for the specific valve you wish to adjust. All CAN Bus valves are capable of partial positioning from 0% to 100%.
  2. Adjust the Slider: A modal window appears with a slider bar.
  3. Set Percentage: Slide to the desired percentage (e.g., 25% for a slow trickle). The actuator immediately moves the valve to that exact position.

Common uses for fine-grain control:

  • Precision manual dosing: Adding a very small, specific amount of product manually without overshooting your target.
  • Controlled priming: Slowly opening a valve to prime a dry line without causing a "water hammer" effect or air surges.
  • Flow calibration: Observing how different valve percentages affect flow rate (GPM) during system testing.
  • Winterization: Setting valves to 50% during the air-blowout phase so water trapped in the ball cavity can escape — remember to close them completely for final off-season storage.
