Work Order Types
Tier: Work Order and Reusable Mix are available at every tier with Work Orders (Basic and above). Repack and Template are Premium add-ons (purchased separately; not bundled by default).
When you create a Work Order, the Use As field sets what kind of job it is. The type decides how the Work Order is sized, whether it shows on the Mix tab, and whether Mixmate tracks its progress and asks you to complete it.
Comparing the Work Order Types
| Use As | Use it for | How it’s sized | Progress and completion |
| Work Order (Completable) | A job with a set amount to finish, such as spraying 640 acres. | A Work Order Size (an area, volume or weight), split into mixes by the Mix Size Type. | Mix Setup shows its progress and mixes remaining. Once the total has been mixed, the operator is asked whether to mark it complete. |
| Reusable Mix | A recipe you mix again and again, with no end amount. | An Intended Mix Size: the amount you usually mix. | Not tracked. It’s never completed for you; mark it complete when you retire the recipe. |
| Repack (Premium add-on) | Filling containers from a bulk product. | A Total and a Container Size, filled one container at a time. | Not tracked. It’s never completed for you. |
| Template (Premium add-on) | One plan for many fields. | Each field’s area, from its Report Tag. A separate Work Order is created for each field. | The Template itself isn’t mixed. Each field’s Work Order is a Completable Work Order, tracked and completed on its own. |
All four types show on the Mix tab except a Template. You mix its fields’ Work Orders instead.
Rates or Totals
Separately from the type, a Work Order calculates its products either from rates or from totals (see Use Rates and Use Totals):
Work Order and Reusable Mix can use either.
Repack always uses totals: one product, measured by the container.
Template always uses rates, so each field’s amounts follow from its area.
Which One Should I Use?
Work Order
Use a Work Order when the job has an end. A custom applicator has 640 acres to spray at 15 gallons per acre with a 1,200 gallon sprayer: Mixmate works out each load, shows how much is left, and asks to complete the Work Order once the last load is mixed.
Reusable Mix
Use a Reusable Mix for a recipe that never runs out. A farmer’s standard 1,000 gallon fungicide tank mix, mixed whenever it’s needed all season, stays on the Mix tab until they mark it complete.
Repack
Use a Repack to fill containers from bulk, such as filling 2.5 gallon jugs from a bulk tank for retail. See Repack Work Orders.
Template
Use a Template when the same plan covers many fields. Write the burndown program once, select the fields, and Mixmate creates a Work Order sized to each one. See Template Work Orders.
Common Questions
Why wasn’t I asked to complete my Work Order?
Only a Work Order (Completable) asks, and only once its whole total has been mixed. Reusable Mixes and Repacks never ask. You can mark any of them complete yourself from the three dots on the Work Orders page (see Work Orders).
Why can’t I select my Template on the Mix tab?
A Template is the plan, not a job to mix. Select the Work Order for the field you’re spraying instead.
I don’t see Repack or Template in the Use As list.
They’re Premium add-ons, and they only appear once they’re part of your subscription. To add them, sign in to Intersect and update your subscription, then sync the Mixmate app.
