Why is the scale on my inductor not reading anything?

Troubleshooting: Why is my inductor scale not reading?

If your inductor weight is staying at zero or not responding when you add product, there are two primary culprits: a software setting that needs resetting or a physical break in the communication line.

Step 1: Check the Drain Weight Setting

The most common "software" reason for a non-responsive scale is an uninitialized Drain Weight. If the system doesn't know the baseline weight of the empty plumbing, it may fail to display a live reading.

Step 2: Inspect the Wiring (The Physical Connection)

If the Drain Weight setting doesn't fix it, you likely have a physical disconnect. Load cell wires are thin and are common targets for vibration wear or rodents.

  1. Access the Module: * Fusion Inductors: Open the back access panel.

    • Pro Inductors: Open the top access cover.

  2. Locate the Inductor Module: Look for the module with two round, threaded connectors.

  3. Check the Connectors: Ensure the threaded collars are tight. Unplug them and inspect the pins for corrosion or "greening."

  4. Trace the Wires: Inspect the length of the wire from the load cell to the module. Look for:

    • Loose connections.

    • Broken or frayed wires.

    • Animal Damage: Check for signs of wires being chewed on by rodents during off-season storage.

Step 3: Verify in Diagnostics Mode

After checking the wiring, you should verify if the module is sending any signal:

  1. Go to Diagnostics Mode.

  2. Find the Inductor Scale card and toggle the reading "ON."

  3. Press down on the inductor tank with your hand. If the numbers move (even slightly), the wiring is intact and you likely just need to perform an [Inductor Calibration].
