Setting Drain Weight

Setting Drain Weight

Service: How to run the Drain Weight Wizard

The Drain Weight Wizard is an automated process that identifies the point where your inductor is physically empty. It then establishes a "weight offset" to ensure the drain valve closes with enough liquid remaining to prevent airlocks and foaming.

Before You Start

  • Pump Status: Your main carrier pump must be running before you begin the wizard so the system can measure the inductor under active suction.

  • Inductor Scale: Ensure the scale is calibrated and the tank is clean.

  • Liquid Level: Ensure there is at least some water in the inductor (enough to cover the drain).

Step-by-Step Procedure

  1. Navigate to Manual Mode: Tap the Manual Mode tab (far-right icon) on the bottom navigation bar.

  2. Start Your Pump: Ensure your carrier pump is running and the system is ready to pull liquid.

  3. Open the Wizard: Select Inductor Drain Weight from the list of setup wizards.

  4. Automatic Execution: Once you start the wizard, the process is fully automatic:

    • The Mixmate will open the inductor drain valve.

    • The system will monitor the weight as the inductor is sucked dry.

    • It identifies the "dry weight" (the point where the scale stops dropping).

  5. Calculated Offset: The machine automatically adds a safety offset to that dry weight. This ensures that in future operations, the valve closes while a safe "plug" of water still remains above the drain.

  6. Completion: The wizard will close the valve and save the settings. You can now turn off your pump or proceed with other tasks.

Why is this better than manual setting?

By allowing the machine to find the "dry" weight under active suction, it accounts for the vibration and plumbing pull specific to your setup. The automatic offset removes the guesswork, ensuring your "floor" isn't too low (causing airlocks) or too high (leaving too much water in the tank).

When to run this Wizard:

  • During initial system setup.

  • After an Inductor Scale Calibration.

  • If you have changed your carrier pump or significantly altered your plumbing.
