Error 401 is a high-level alert indicating that the communication link between your tablet and the Mixmate hardware has been severed.
You will receive Error 401 when the tablet can no longer "see" the machine. It is important to note that this error is usually a symptom of another problem rather than the root cause. It is almost always preceded by other errors (like 301 or 302).
Crucial: Always check for and attempt to resolve any other error codes that appeared immediately before the 401.
Random disconnects are frequently power-related. Even if your battery looks "okay," heavy draws (like opening multiple valves) can cause micro-spikes of low voltage. These spikes may be too fast to trigger a low-voltage shutdown, but long enough to "crash" the wireless connection.
Ensure your battery is healthy and your charging system is providing at least 13.8V to 14.2V during operation.
Range: Ensure the tablet is within 100 feet of the Mixmate.
Obstructions: Large metal objects or tanks between the tablet and the master controller can significantly reduce signal strength.
The tablet's operating system sometimes "puts the connection to sleep" to save power. Adjust these settings to keep the link active:
Set Screen Timeout Longer: If the screen turns off, the tablet may cut the connection. Set your timeout to at least 30 minutes or "Never" while plugged in.
Enable Location Services: All platforms requires Location Services to be ON to manage wireless connections and find the Mixmate hardware.
Check Permissions: Ensure the Mixmate app has been granted all requested permissions (Wifi, Nearby Devices, Location).
Disable "Intelligent Wi-Fi": Turn off settings like "Switch to Mobile Data" or "Intelligent Wi-Fi," as these can cause the tablet to jump away from the Mixmate connection if it thinks the internet signal is weak.
Cellular Data Override: If your tablet has a SIM card, ensure "Cellular Data Override" is OFF in your connection settings to prevent it from interfering with the local hardware link.
Outdated operating system software can contain bugs that affect wireless stability.
Swipe down from the top right of the screen.
Click the Gear icon (Settings).
Scroll to the bottom and select Software Update.
Tap Download and Install. Note: You may need to repeat this process several times until it says "Your software is up to date."
