How do I partially open a valve in Diagnostic Mode?

Service: How do I partially open a valve?

While Mixmate valves typically operate in a simple "Open" or "Closed" state during an automated mix, there are times when you may need fine grain manual control over your flow. This allows for precise throttling of products or carrier lines during manual transfers.

Step 1: Open Diagnostic Mode

To access manual valve overrides, you must first enter the system's diagnostics area.

Guide:

Step 2: Access the Partial Opening Slider

All CAN Bus valves in the Mixmate system are capable of partial positioning (anywhere from 0% to 100%).

  1. Long Press: Instead of a quick tap, Press and Hold the button for the specific valve you wish to adjust.

  2. Adjust the Slider: A modal window will appear on the screen with a slider bar.

  3. Set Percentage: Slide your finger to the desired percentage (e.g., 25% for a slow trickle). The actuator will immediately move the valve to that exact position.

Common Use Cases for Fine Grain Control

  • Precision Manual Dosing: When you need to add a very small, specific amount of product manually without overshooting your target.

  • Controlled Priming: Slowly opening a valve to prime a dry line without causing a "water hammer" effect or air surges.

  • Flow Calibration: Observing how different valve percentages affect your flow rate (GPM) during system testing.

  • Winterization: Setting valves to 50% during the air-blowout phase ensures that water trapped in the ball cavity can escape. (Note: Remember to close them completely for final off-season storage).
