Flowmeter Calibration

Flowmeter Calibration

The carrier meters that are used with the system typically have to be calibrated after final installation because they are sensitve to how the liquid flows through them.  We typically like to see how the total comes out over a period of 3 loads before making an adjustment, because we want to see consistency first. Mag meters can be erratic in their readings from environmental factors and would give inconsistent volumes, so this needs to be eliminated prior to adjusting calibrations. The two common environmental factors we see are the inability to read the liquid due to lack of ions (Reverse Osmosis water, oils, etc), and ground loops (voltage feeding back through the liquid to the meter).

If you are getting a consistent volume output, then you may do the following to adjust your meter calibration.

1. Go to Carrier Assembly
2. Click the Data Tab
3. Click on Mixmates
4. To get to the Carrier Assembly, click the middle of the Mixmate Card
5. Click Proceed
6. Click the Assemblies Tab
7. Click the middle of the Carrier Assembly
8. You will find the calibration by clicking the Scan Flowmeter Serial under either the Primary Measurement section or the Secondary Measurement section. Make sure you update the one that you are calibrating for (typically the Primary).
9. To calculate the new calibration, take what the Mixmate says divided by what you are actually getting and multiply that by the current calibration number. For Example, if you the Mixmate shows that it is outputting 1000 gallons and you are actually getting 950 in your sprayer tank, and the current calibration is 24, your equation would look like the following along with the new calibration. 1000/950*24=25.26. You would then enter 25.26 back in for the calibration.
