What size battery should I run?

A group 31 starting battery with a minimum of 960 CCA is needed. What you need to know is electric valves operate like a bunch of little engines where multiple of them can start at the same time. 

Why can't I run a deep cycle battery?

Deep cycle batteries are designed to have a constant draw of power over a long period of time. These do not work well for high amp draws for short periods of time. Mixmate draws high amps for short periods of time.
