Tablet Error 101 - Unexpected Flow Detected

Unexpected Flow Detected is a safety and accuracy alert triggered when a flowmeter senses movement while the system is not actively calling for that product.

Why am I getting this error?

You will receive Error 101 when the machine detects flow through a flowmeter that is not currently being used to measure a product into the mix. This safety feature ensures that you aren't accidentally adding the wrong product to a load or losing product due to a mechanical failure.

The error message on the tablet will specify exactly which flowmeter detected the flow to help you pinpoint the issue.

How do I resolve this error?

If you encounter Error 101, check the following three areas to clear the alert and ensure your mix remains accurate:

1. Check Your Valves

Verify that all valves feeding into that specific flowmeter are fully closed. If a valve is partially open or failing to seat correctly, the carrier or product pressure could be pushing fluid past the meter.

2. Inspect for Leaks

Perform a visual inspection of the plumbing associated with that meter. Look for any external leaks or internal bypasses that could be allowing fluid movement.

3. Inspect Wiring

Check the electrical wiring leading to the flowmeter. Look for:

  • Rubbed spots: Worn insulation can cause an electrical "short" that the system interprets as flow.

  • Loose connections: Ensure the plug is secure and dry.

  • Interference: Ensure the flowmeter cable isn't zip-tied too tightly to high-voltage power lines (like pump motor leads), which can cause electrical noise.
