This guide covers how to fine-tune your flowmeter calibration. While some meters are factory-set, others require adjustment based on your specific plumbing and environmental conditions.
No Adjustment Needed: Gear meters and Mass-flow meters are factory-calibrated and do not require user adjustment.
Adjustment Required: Paddle meters and Mag meters are sensitive to liquid flow dynamics and installation geometry. These must be calibrated after final installation.
Before changing any numbers, observe the system over at least 3 loads.
Consistency is Key: We want to see the same error every time. If the readings are erratic or inconsistent, do not calibrate yet.
Check for Interference: Mag meters can be affected by "Ground Loops" (stray voltage) or liquids with low ion counts (like RO water or pure oils). These environmental factors must be fixed before calibration will be effective.
If your volume output is consistent but inaccurate, follow these steps to update the Calibration Factor (K-Factor).
Open the Data Tab: Tap the Data tab on the main navigation bar.
Select Mixmates: Tap the Mixmates button.
Enter Configuration: Tap in the middle of your Mixmate Card (near the Master Module text), then tap the Configuration button.
Open Assemblies: Select the Assemblies tab at the top.
Select Carrier: Tap the middle of the Carrier assembly.
Locate Input: Scroll down until you find the Calibration field for the specific flowmeter you wish to adjust.
Calculate the New Number: Use the following formula:
Example:
Mixmate says you pumped 1000 gallons.
The sprayer tank actually contains 950 gallons.
Your current calibration is 24.
Calculation: (1000 / 950) x 24 = 25.26
New Calibration: 25.26
Enter and Save: Enter the new number into the Calibration field and tap Save in the upper right corner.
Final Commit: Tap the System tab at the top and tap Save in the upper right corner once more to commit the changes to the system hardware.
