Setup: Custom Inputs Tab Overview

When creating a new Custom Input, you must first select the Type: Flow, Inductor, or Manifold. Each type serves a specific hardware architecture.

1. Flow Type

Used primarily for configuring single product input lines.

  • Name: The identifier used in dropdowns and reports.

  • Measurement Options:

    • Flowmeter: Requires Module Code, Port, and Flowmeter Code (Serial and Calibration).

    • Mass Flowmeter: Requires Module Code, plus Port and Calibration Factors for both Volume and Weight.

    • Scale: Used for weight-based flow.

      • Additional Scale Head: Check this if an external head powers the load cells. If unchecked, Mixmate provides the power. Note: Physical wiring differs for each.

      • ADC Gain: Sets signal amplification (8–128). If you change this, you must update the Calibration Factor.

      • Capacity & Units: Define the rated capacity and units (e.g., 5000 lbs).

  • Throttle Valve (Optional): Define as Digital (Module output) or CAN Bus (Serial number).

  • Hose Dimensions (Optional): Diameter and Length for "Charge Line" calculations.

2. Inductor Type

Used specifically for configuring non-Mixmate manufactured inductors.

  • Name: The name of the custom inductor.

  • Valves (All Optional except Drain): Configure as CAN Bus or Digital.

    • Jug Rinse Valve: Controls the nozzle for rinsing jugs.

    • Tank Rinse Valve: Controls the internal tank wash.

    • Air Valve: Used for clearing lines with air.

    • Drain Valve (Required): The valve that empties the inductor into the carrier stream.

  • Scale Information: Uses the same configuration as the Scale Items in the Flow Type (ADC Gain, Capacity, etc.).

  • Rinse Switch Port: Select the port on the inductor module and set to Active High or Active Low.

  • Lid Switch Port: Select the port for the lid sensor. Define the signal level (Active High/Low) that indicates the lid is closed.

3. Manifold Type

Used for Custom Stacks using Mass Flowmeters or Repacking Stations using pallet scales.

  • Name: The name of the manifold or station.

  • Measurement: Same options as Flow Type (Flowmeter, Mass Flowmeter, or Scale).

  • Common Valves (Optional):

    • Rinse Valve: Controls the flush cycle for the manifold.

    • Throttle Valve: The master control valve for the manifold.

  • Add Inputs: You can add as many individual product inputs as needed. Each requires:

    • Name: Used on the Mix Preview page.

    • Valve: Define as CAN Bus or Digital.

    • Hose Dimensions: Diameter and Length for plumbing volume accounting.
